About the product

4AUTOMOTIVE TAR-EX E is a solvent-based tar and bitumen remover for exterior car care. It dissolves road bitumen, tar splashes and greasy grime that stay on sills, lower doors, wheel arches and the rear bumper after a normal wash. The dissolved spots wipe off with a microfibre cloth — no hard scrubbing and no picking with a fingernail.

The formula is based on dearomatised C9–C11 hydrocarbons (less than 2 % aromatics) and 1-methoxy-2-propanol. The liquid is colourless. Made in Latvia by SIA “Politech”.

Available in three sizes: 1 L for home use, 5 L and 20 L for detailing studios, garages and car washes.

  • Tar spots on sills, doors and bumpers
  • Tar splashes after roadworks
  • Wheel arches and wheels
  • Surface cleaning before polishing or coating
Before use test on an inconspicuous area. Do not use on hot surfaces or in direct sunlight. On matte films, PPF and vinyl wraps — only after a test.

How to use — 5 steps

Work in the shade, on a cool surface

    Prepare the surface

    Wash off sand and dirt. Let the surface cool and work in the shade.

    Apply

    Spray or apply with a microfibre cloth directly onto the tar spots.

  3. 3

    Let it work

    Wait until the tar starts to dissolve. Do not let the product dry.

  4. 4

    Wipe off

    Wipe with a clean microfibre cloth without pressure. Repeat on thick spots.

  5. 5

    Wash and protect

    Wash with car shampoo and rinse. If the surface was waxed, renew the protection.

Large volumes. For the 5 L and 20 L packs, use a solvent-resistant sprayer.
Storage. Only in the original container, in a cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat and open flames.

Frequently asked questions

The product is made for exterior car care. Test on an inconspicuous area first, do not use on a hot surface and do not let it dry on the paint.

Solvent-based products can weaken a wax or sealant layer where they are used. Renew the protection after cleaning and washing.

1 L for home use. 5 L and 20 L for detailing studios, garages and car washes, where the price per litre is lower.

Only in the original container, in a cool, well-ventilated place, away from heat, sparks and open flames.

Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes, holding the eyelids open, and seek medical help immediately.
